Carpet Punchers

We talk about the games that make our blood boil, make us say bad words, and punch carpet! That's right, we're talking about frustrating games that piss us off! We journey back to old school games such as Street Fighter 2 and recall current games like Call of Duty. We ponder about past and evaluate the present while connecting our emotional bonds with stressful and frustrating games.

During the episode, we talk about games that invoke anger, frustration, stress, and anxiety from our past and present. We evaluate why we felt these emotions, and why we still play these games despite the negative emotions. As we get older we readjust to tough emotional games and we learn to enjoy stressful games.

As we progress through the episode we discuss violence with games and how it impacts us. With a very biased opinion, we felt that games don't cause violence within gamers, but instead, are therapeutic and relaxing; sometimes.

A great resource to deal with difficult emotions comes from the Mayo Clinic website. It provides great ways to reduce anger while playing tough and emotionally draining games. Everyone needs to learn how to deal with anger regardless if it's from a game or from life. As an extra note, the Mayo Clinic website provides suggestions for helping your children by reducing extended screen time. You can find the website page here.
